Reaching Evenings Together Amsterdam
Everything is done in writing. A written booking leaves the date, the hour and the length sitting in a thread both of you can read again, which matters when only one of you was holding the phone when it was agreed.
Getting it right comes first here, and discretion is the second reason rather than the first. A spoken booking depends on one tired person hearing another correctly and then relaying it accurately to a third who was in a meeting at the time. A written one does not.
A first message is straightforward to answer when it carries six things:
- The date, and a second date if the week is still moving.
- The hour you want, in Amsterdam time rather than the time either phone is still keeping.
- Where you are: a district or a building, with the room number once you have it.
- How long: sixty minutes, ninety, two hours, three, or the block.
- One therapist between you, or a therapist each.
- A name from the therapist pages if the two of you have already settled on one.
Back in the same thread come a name, the figure and the window she will arrive inside. Nothing is asked of you before that, and no deposit until an evening has actually been agreed.
Writing while one of you is still at work
Most of these threads are written by whichever of you has the free day, which works perfectly well as long as the other has agreed to the arrangement. Where the working half of the week is still unpredictable, say so in the message and give the window rather than a single minute; that is easier to answer than a time that turns out to be wrong.
If either of you is at an airport hotel near Schiphol, put it at the top. Those evenings are arranged rather than quoted, and the reply takes a different shape because the journey is agreed with you first.
What the thread cannot do
It cannot tell you what a particular building allows its guests, cannot book or change a room, and will not contact anyone on your behalf. It answers about dates, therapists, techniques, length and payment, and it answers those properly. The questions page often answers it before you write, and the booking page takes over once you have.
Anything that needs a record rather than a conversation, a complaint, a question about what is held about either of you, or a request under the privacy pages, goes in writing to [email protected].
